Tori Amos celebrates the 10th anniversary of his album “Unrepentant Geraldine” announcing a special Deluxe edition.

Originally released in 2014 by Decca Records, “Unrepentant Geraldines” marked Amos’ return to her core identity as a pop and rock music creator after several outings in the classical genre.
Registered at Martian Engineering Studiosthe album was self-produced and mixed by Mark Hawley and Marcel van Limbeek. The album finds Amos grappling with chamber pop melodic and evocative, full of poetry, fairytale soul and introspective poetry.
“Unrepentant Geraldines” has a stripped-down, acoustic sound, with many of the song arrangements consisting solely of Amos’s voice and piano. Lyrically, many of the songs were influenced by visual art; both paintings and photography served as inspiration for the album’s material.
In this regard, Tori Amos states:
I’ve always been inspired by visual artists because, like music, art isn’t a job you drop in and out of, it’s something that defines who and what you are. Visual artists shake our brains and force us to look at everything from objects we wouldn’t normally pay attention to to people we might not care about.
In one image they can remind us of Nature’s power to enchant, as well as humanity’s futile attempt to overwhelm it…through the visual artist’s application of tone, shape, pattern and pigment, I not only begin to see, but I can honestly say I begin to feel.
“Unrepentant Geraldines” peaked at number 7 in the US, becoming Tori Amos’s eighth top 10 album in her country, and entered the top 20 in eight other countries, including the UK.
Since the release of his first solo album, “Little Earthquakes” and his most famous album “Under The Pink”Tori Amos has been a best-selling artist, with over 12 million albums sold worldwide, including one million in the UK, more than a thousand concerts, but also three albums in the UK Top 10 and the single “Professional Widow”, which stayed in the Top 40 for a whopping 15 weeks and continued to rock the dance floors for nearly three decades.
Tori has gone from commercial pop success to using her music to address serious gender issues, paving the way for a generation of young activist pop stars. From her visceral depiction of sexual violence in “Me and a Gun”, to the album “Scarlet’s Walk”, post-9/11, up to the musical “The Light Princess”, for the National Theatre, Amos has blended the personal with the political in his work.
The American recording artist was the first major label artist to offer a single for download. Her songs have been turned into graphic novels and she has produced groundbreaking videos throughout her career. Tori was the first public voice of RAINN (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network), the largest anti-sexual violence organization in the United States.
