There is again talk of a Rolling Stones European tour in 2026
Rumors of a Rolling Stones return to tour have been around for a year: according to various sources, a series of concerts was ready for the summer of 2025, including Italy, then everything was postponed: Mick Jagger and his associates had their entourage book the Stadio Olimpico in Rome for the date of May 29, which appeared in the tour itinerary alongside the dates in London and in the stadiums of Barcelona, Amsterdam and Paris.
Now there is talk of it again, due to the statements of Chuck Leavell, the band’s historic collaborator, at the presentation of the reissue of “Black and blue”, scheduled for tomorrow 14 November. “They have no intention of hanging up their rock’n’roll shoes yet, I have no doubt about that. In recent years we have played a lot in the United States, so I think the next stop will be elsewhere, and my best guess is probably Europe”, declared the pianist.
Leavell also confirmed that the band already has the follow-up to “Hackney diamonds”, a 2024 studio album ready: the new album would be ready and due out in 2026. “They have recorded – I’m sure there’s already new music, and I’m sure it’s excellent. I’m also very convinced that the band wants to play live again.
Rumors about the album have also been circulating for months: as already revealed in June, the band is back in the studio to record new material. This was confirmed first by producer Andrew Watt, then directly by Ron Wood, intercepted by Sum. Meanwhile there is the reissue with unreleased songs of the thirteenth album Rolling Stones, “Black and blue”album originally released on April 20, 1976: a “Super Deluxe Box Set”. The box will also contain a Blu-ray with footage of rare performances, a one-hundred-page book with exclusive photographs and a replica of the 1976 tour poster.
