The Tazenda singer says enough and leaves the group

After 12 years of collaboration the singer of Tazendathe Alghero native Nicola Nitestops and abandons the Sardinian formation.

Behind the decision – as the Alghero artist himself specifies – there is no conflict with the other members of the band, that is Gigi Camedda And Gino Marielli, authors and founders together with the late Andrea Parodi.

“I need a break. I have to retire from the role of frontman – Nite specifies to ANSA – consciously and reluctantly I find myself having to make this choice that I never thought I would have to make. Everything costs me a lot and I don’t know if I will ever find a I’ll tell you straight away that there isn’t a rift. And we certainly won’t argue now. The ‘problem’ is me. The last two years of touring have been strange, profound, discouraging. uncontrollable, unjustified” concludes the singer.

For their part, the founders Camedda And Marielli they underline: “We respect his need to take a break, he no longer feels like carrying on his role. We hoped until the end that this wasn’t the case, but unfortunately we have to announce the end of a fabulous artistic relationship, full of successes records and sensational concerts”.

For the Tazendas they speak of a painful announcement from a professional and friendship point of view, but they have already announced that they will move forward again. “We don’t stop, out of a sense of responsibility towards our history and towards our fans, we already have a couple of possible solutions under consideration: we just want to think them through carefully. We move forward with courage and with a pinch of madness, our stylistic features and of our project which finds its originality also in its continuous evolution from 37 years to today and with the love for music and for our land, Sardinia, which have never stopped animating us”.

Nicola Nite joined Tazenda in 2013 and his first recording appearance with the band was in a duet with Kekko Silvestre of Modà on the single, signed with Mogol, “Il Breath of Silence”. In 2015 Nite appeared in the live album “Il Breathure Live” and in 2016 in some unreleased tracks from the “S’istoria” collection.

We have to wait until March 2021 for “Antìstasis”, the new album, the first and at this point only one with Nicola Nite on vocals who has obviously accompanied the band during their live activity since his arrival.

Nicola Nite joins Tazenda as a replacement for Beppe Dettori (2006/2012) which in turn replaced, after a period of absence of an official singer, Andrea Parodiwho left the band in 1997 to dedicate himself to solo activity. The singer then passed away prematurely in 2006, after a brief return to the lineup which for the occasion had released the live album of the reunion tour.
