The surviving members of Soundgarden reunite for a show

Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd and Matt Cameron of Soundgarden will reunite on stage for a show next week. The surviving members of the band once led by Chris Cornell, who passed away on May 18, 2017, will perform at the Showbox in Seattle in front of an audience of about a thousand people for a charity event.

On December 14th, the three musicians will play under the name of Nudedragons, which saw them reunite in 2010. The show will be Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd and Matt Cameron’s first together since 2021, when they performed alongside Brandi Carlisle at the Gorge Amphithetre in George, Washington, to perform “Black Hole Sun” and “Searching With My Good Eye Closed.”

“The Nudedragons will return to the stage, at the Showbox, for the first time in over 14 years for the SMooCH benefit for Seattle Children’s Hospital on Saturday, December 14,” the band says on social media: “Shaina Shepherd will sing for their short performance in the encores”.

SMooCH was founded by musicians Pete and Brandy Nordstrom in 2012 after their child received life-saving treatment from Seattle Children’s Hospital. Previous benefit shows have featured Modest Mouse, Iron And Wine, Jason Isbell, J. Mascis, the Afghan Whigs and Redd Kross. Last year’s event generated more than $2.6 million.
