Last February, “Ma non tutta la vita” saw Ricchi e Poveri return to compete at Sanremo for the thirteenth time, with only Angela Brambati and Angelo Sotgiu, the two survivors of the group, after the exit of Marina Occhiena – during the 1981 Festival – and the death of Franco Gatti (the “moustache”) in October 2022. The original quartet had reunited in 2020, arriving as super guests at the Sanremo Festival that year. However, due to Covid and Franco’s passing, it was not possible for the group to follow up with a record, as planned, on their return as a full lineup.
