The return of Skunk Anansie: new single after almost 3 years

“An artist is an artist” is the title of the single that marks the return of Skunk Anansie with new music after almost three years, i.e. since the release of the 2022 songs “Piggy” and “Can’t take you anywhere”. As promised in a press release, the new song is the first taste of what the band led by Skin has in store for 2025.

The single is produced by David Sitek of TV On The Radio, known for his production work with Foals, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Santigold, Solange, Weezer and Chelsea Wolfe. Speaking of Sitek, Skin said in a statement: “His name was on a lot of records we liked. But none of them sounded the same. The projects all sounded fresh, but more importantly the artists all sounded like themselves.” The guitarist Ace added: “It reminded us that the process of creating music doesn’t have to be that complicated. When starting a band it never is.

The release of “An artist is an artist” anticipates the start of the new tour of Skunk Anansie, who will also be in concert in Italy for an already sold out date at Alcatra in Milan on March 7th.
