The official exhibition dedicated to Franco Battiato opens in Rome

Not only the film, announced yesterday, expected in cinemas at the beginning of February. 2026 will be a year dedicated to Franco Battiato. An exhibition will also be dedicated to the Sicilian singer-songwriter which will open on January 31st in Rome, at the Maxxi National Museum of XXI Century Arts. The exhibition will be entitled “Franco Battiato. Another life” and is presented as «an exhibition-event that celebrates, five years after his death, the human genius and musical by an artist without equal in the history of Italian music.”

Co-produced by the Ministry of Culture and MAXXI National Museum of the Arts of the 21st Century, curated by Giorgio Calcara with Grazia Cristina Battiato (granddaughter of the voice of “La cura”) is organized by COR Create Organize Realize by Alessandro Nicosia in collaboration with the Franco Battiato ETS Foundation, the exhibition will be open until 26 April: «Among memories and unpublished materials, the visitor travels through Battiato’s life in an intense and touching experience, beyond music, beyond time», we read again in the press release. The exhibition will be divided into sEight sections that tell the story of his life and his art: 1. The beginning (from Sicily to Milan), 2. Experimenting (from acoustics to electronics), 3. Success (from avant-garde to pop), 4. Mysticism (between East and West), 5. Man (return to origins), 6. The Maestro, 7. From sound to image (Battiato’s cinema). «In the center of the room, an octagonal space, an echo of the musical octave, the beating heart of the exhibition, where a listening system envelops the visitor in an immersive sound experience», say the organizers, who promise to reveal unpublished materials and rare memorabilia to visitors.
