“The name of the band plagiar the brand”: sued Neil Young

Neil Young could be forced to change the name of his new band, the Chrome Hearts, together with which he has just released the debut album “Talking to the Trees”. The Losangelino Chrome Hearts fashion brand has in fact decided to sue Neil Young, accusing it of having given the group the same name as its brand.

Chrome Hearts LLC filed his complaint with a Federal Court of California on Thursday 11 September.

In the complaint, the Lawyers of Chrome Hearts claim the property “of the Chrome HeartsĀ® name brand and composite brands including the Chrome Hearts brand and design components”, dating back to 1991. The company supports That Young and his teammates are violating the registered trademark by selling products “Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts” which “incorporate the exact denominative brand Chrome HeartsĀ® and which therefore could cause confusion with the various Chrome Hearts brands by Chrome Hearts”.

According to the text of the complaint, the Chrome Hearts had informed the Young team in July of the alleged violation of the brand, but the band continued to make tour with the brand and sell merchandising. Through the cause, the Chrome Hearts now ask that Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts cease to use the name.
