It is from this principle that the annual analysis of Discogs, the main marketplace for used music and record collectibles, starts, based on data from user collections and global and local trends for 2025.
The report tells what united collectors from all over the world – the albums, artists, labels, reissues and the most sought-after 7 inches of the year – but also the differences between the various areas of the planet. In the United States Taylor Swift has dominated, in the Nordic countries metal and hard rock have overtaken pop, in Latin America interest in classical cumbia and MPB has grown, while in Oceania the new “larrikin” hip hop has established itself. While in Western Europe 2025 was the year of returns and rediscoveries: from “The Overview” by Steven Wilson to the return of Oasis and Linkin Park, but the new releases “Lux” by Rosalía also included The Cure in the top 10.
The highest paid vinyl records of 2025
Among the best-selling single records, some paid 15 thousand dollars for the 7″ of “Vengeance” by Fix, printed in just 200 copies – the highest price of 2025 – some paid over 12 thousand dollars for the 2006 Led Zeppelin box set, made up of 48 singles. Third place for “Love Buzz / Big Cheese”, the Nirvana single printed for the Sub Pop Singles Club, sold for 10,660 In fourth place were the first mono pressing of “Please Please Me” by the Beatles (9,733 dollars) and the single “Boney Maronie / Packing Up” by Damon Fox from the early 1960s (8,500 dollars).
