The Lemonheads have announced their first album in 19 years

They had not published original material since 2006, the year in which their eighth studio albums, with a eponymous title. Now the Lemonheads have announced the release of a new unreleased album, after nineteen years: it is titled “Love Chant” and on October 24th it will mark the return of the Boston band unanimously considered as one of the icons of the American alternative rock scene of the 90s. Of the disc, it is already possible to listen to an anticipation, the single “In the Margin”. And together with the announcement of the album, that of the relative tour also arrived, starting on August 13 from London (the calendar, at the moment, does not include passages in Italy, while it includes dates in Spain, Belgium, Germany, Holland).

“I wanted to write a song with riffs, so I started to compose several. A song of revenge came out that seems written by a third grade girl,” said the lemonheads frontman, Evan Dando, speaking of the song. For “Love Chant”, Julian Hatfield, Bryce Goggin, Erin Rae, The Blake Babies’ John Stroh have joined the Lemonheads, among others.

In these nineteen years from the release of their latest album of unpublished, “The Lemonheads”, giving and companions did not remain the thumbs: between 2009 and 2019 the band released two cover albums, “Varshons” and “Varshons 2”.
