The Festival was created with the aim of enhancing street art as a free, authentic and inclusive cultural form. Musicians, jugglers, acrobats, performers and artists of all kinds enliven squares, alleys and monuments, offering the public the opportunity to experience the city from a different and participatory perspective. The direct meeting between artist and spectator represents the heart of the event, which has always promoted sharing, dialogue and discovery. The choices are made according to a rigorous selection, and is based on the true principles of Busking, a true artistic genre, made up of scenic space, breaking the fourth wall, management of acoustics and the art of improvisation. The success of this event has led, over the years, to many imitations; however Ferrara remains the true capital of buskers, undisputed.

An original and authentic journey capable of involving and enchanting thousands of spectatorsleading them to discover street art. The one made “as a hat”, the latter symbol of an exchange that takes place between the artist who donates his performance and the public who, by leaving an offering, recognizes its value, becoming an active part in the show. Particular attention is dedicated to environmental sustainability. The Festival was the first Italian event certified ISO 20121 for sustainable management and has been carrying out concrete projects for years to reduce environmental impact, promote recycling, limit waste and raise public awareness of responsible behavior. Through initiatives such as Ecofestival, BGreen and numerous collaborations with associations and institutions, the Ferrara Buskers Festival demonstrates how culture can also be a tool for territorial protection and civic education.

The Ferrara Buskers Festival is much more than a music festival: it is a meeting place between different cultures, languages and generations, a laboratory of creativity and active citizenship that continues to renew itself. Inclusive, ecological and transversal, it is a festival open to all and designed for everyone.
