The Cure release another single and the tracklist of the new album

“A fragile thing” is the song chosen by Care as a second preview, after “Halo”, from the new album “Songs of a lost world” next one coming November 1st. The release of the new single, available from today 9 October on digital platforms, was announced by the band in recent days. At the same time, the British band also revealed the tracklist of the next album, the first by Robert Smith and co after “4:13 Dream” in 2008 (read our review here).

Like the previous song from the new album, “A fragile thing” It’s not a completely new song for the fans, played for the first time during the Milanese concert on 4 November 2022. Other songs presented live during the world tour two years ago are Another happy birthday”, “And nothing is forever”, “I can never say goodbye” and “Endsong”. Two of these new songs (“And nothing is forever” recorded in Montpellier in 2022 and “I can never say goodbye” from the concert in Toulouse) were also included on the vinyl “The Cure – November: Live in France”. 2022″, released last October 1st.

Nothing you can do now but pretend again'”, goes the refrain of “A fragile thing”, a song steeped in melancholy led by guitar and piano at a constant pace.

“‘A fragile thing’ is the ‘love song’ of the album, but it’s not really a love song, in the same way that ‘Lovesong’ is a love song,” the band explained about it of the album in a newsletter sent to fans: “It’s about how Love is the most enduring emotion, the most powerful, incredibly resilient… and at the same time incredibly fragile.”

Ahead of the release of their new albumthe Cure announced last week two live sessions for “BBC Radio 6 Music” and “BBC Radio 2 In Concert” which will be broadcast at the end of October. The two sets will be recorded at BBC Radio Theatre at Broadcasting House in London, and will see the band play some of their classics alongside songs from their upcoming studio work.
