The cause of Gary “Mani” Mounfield’s death has been revealed

About a month after his death on November 20th, the causes of the death of Gary “Mani” Mounfield, the bassist of the Stone Roses and Primal Scream (pictured), were revealed.

The family has confirmed that the musician, who passed away at just 63 years old, has died “speacefully“in my sleep because of”breathing problems“related toemphysemaa long-standing lung disease. The Manchester Evening News reports.

Mani was reportedly not transported to hospital and his death was declared on site. It is believed that police did not attend the scene, but a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed that the death was “not suspicious“.

A memorial service will be held at Manchester Cathedral, Victoria Street, on Monday 22 December from 11.30am. Afterward, a private memorial service will be held for family and close friends.
