The Black Crowes: a new album is coming

Legendary rock icons and 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, The Black Crowes, announce the release date of their new album, “A Pound of Feathers”, confirmed for March 13th on Silver Arrow Records. Produced by Jay Joyce, the record brings their blend of blues, soul and rock towards new territories, showing the continuity of a career spanning four decades. “We made this record in eight or ten days,” says Chris Robinson. “Bringing the exhilaration and inspiration of ‘Happiness Bastards’ into this album was a natural progression. We wrote instinctively and following the sensations of the moment. Rich brought a spontaneity to the record that I can’t describe, but it’s the best song I’ve ever done.”

Rich Robinson adds: “This album feels like a transformative experience to us. Going back to our roots, we felt that spark in the studio and in the way we work together. Lighting a more intense fire, but remaining true to our musical essence.” “A Pound of Feathers” combines the grit of their early classics with new perspectives and dynamic arrangements. Recorded in Nashville with GRAMMY-winning producer Jay Joycethe album highlights the band’s ability to work together with cohesion and passion. Drawing inspiration from emotional writing and the musicality that distinguishes them, the project moves between the lightness of “A Pound of Feathers” and the concreteness of “a pound of lead”, giving all the tracks depth and honesty. Opening track “Profane Prophecy” sets the tone for the album, with cheeky and fun lyrics, while the more reflective “Pharmacy Chronicles” tackles personal vices and the responsibility of dealing with them. The album follows the previous “Happiness Bastards” from 2024nominated for best rock album at the 2025 GRAMMY Awards, confirming the artistic continuity of the Black Crowes without rhetorical excess.
