The 10th edition of Seeyousound International Festival is in Turin

The 10th edition of Seeyousound International Music Film Festival will be held in Turin from 23 February to 3 March at Cinema Massimo and other locations.

The festival, the only one in Italy entirely dedicated to music-themed cinema, will celebrate 10 years of the union between sound and image with a 10-day program made up of 90 titles – including feature films, documentaries, shorts and video clips of which 30 Italian premieres, 1 absolute premiere – and 24 live events.

He will be present in the room to kick off the event on Friday 23 February at 8.45pm Alison Ellwood for the Italian premiere of his “Let The Canary Sing”, dedicated to the singer-songwriter and icon of female empowerment Cyndi Lauper.

During the 10 days of events, works dedicated to great names in the history of music such as Fatboy Slimi The Birthday Party Of Nick Cave, Little Richard, Joan Baez, together to surprising characters like i Gogol Bordello, the provocateur Brigitte Fontainethe father of techno Morton Subotnick and many others.

60 guests from Italy and the world will participate in the event, including directors, actors, jurors and artists, with some great returns such as Julien Temple che will be awarded a lifetime achievement award and will bring 4 pearls from his archive to the room, retracing the life and works of artists such as The Clash, Sex Pistols and Keith Richards.

The absolute preview of will be presented on Tuesday 27th at 6.00 pm “Virgin of the Po Valley” by Maddalena Merlino, who will present her short film about an entire generation who grew up watching music on TV.

There will be no shortage of them in Turin live, dj set, talk and exhibition. Many artists will take to the stage at the Cinema Massimo, including the pianist and composer Christophe Chassol; but also Cristina Donà and Saverio Lanza with the show “Spiriti Guida” which pays homage to the greats of music; Enrico Gabrielli and the crew of the 19’40” label; Alberto Bianco accompanied by Margherita Vicario; Hare with a new and intimate version of “Eremo”; the trumpeter Giorgio Li Calzi with a special live e The lover.

Also in the room is the premiere of vibraXIONES Of Salgari Records and the experimental orchestra Tonal Stone (vibraXIONES is a multidisciplinary installation that fuses music, cinema and video art); a masterclass of Mr Fantasy/Carlo Massarini.
