Tenco Listen: two new events dedicated to emerging artists
“Tenco listens”, format that Club Tenco created in 2008 to give emerging artists from all over Italy the opportunity to be heard from an audience, arrives in Abruzzo for two appointments scheduled for tomorrow August 20th to Chieti and wednesday August 21st to Saint Stephen of Sessanio (L’Aquila)both hosted by journalist Paola De Simone.
Tomorrow evening at Chietiin Piazza San Giustino, the event opens at 9.15pm with “Il Tenco Ascolta”: the following will perform Monja Brown, Marinella (Marinella Iezzi) and the pop/rock group Twik, formed by Laura Twelle Morelli (vocals), Vincenzo Vik Di Santo (vocals and drums), Filippo Di Nardo (electric guitar) and Lorenzo Marcozzi (bass).
The evening continues with the presentation of the book “Music and words – a brief history of singer-songwriters in Italy” by Paolo Talanca (Carocci publisher). Talanca will be joined by the artistic director of Club Tenco Sergio Secondiano Sacchi. The event will conclude with a concert by the Roman singer-songwriter Piji (Pierluigi Siciliani).
The event is organized by the Municipality of Chieti and the Department of Culture and Events of the Municipality of Chieti in collaboration with the Centro Adriatico Produzione Musica ETS. Free admission.
Wednesday August 21st the event will be held, starting at 7.30 pm, at Saint Stephen of Sessanio(The Eagle) at the Church of the Madonna del Lago, on the occasion of the Transhumance Festival.
The protagonists of “Il Tenco Ascolta” are the artists Square(Riccardo Fanelli) and Atarde (Leonardo Celsi), who will open the meeting.
The presentation of the book follows “Music and words – a brief history of singer-songwriters in Italy” Of Paul Talanca (Carocci publisher). With Talanca on stage Sergio Secondiano Sacchi.
The evening ends with a performance by the Neapolitan singer-songwriter John Block.
The event is organized by Fondazione CREA in collaboration with Centro Adriatico Produzione Musica ETS. Free admission.

The review dedicated to the singer-songwriter, which this year celebrates the important 50 year milestonealso in this edition will award one or more artists with the Tenco Prize, assigned by the Tenco Club for the career of those who have made a significant contribution to the world of singer-songwriter music.
The Tenco Club also awards the Tenco Award for the cultural operator and the Yorum Awardestablished in collaboration with Amnesty International Italy since 2020 to give visibility to artists around the world who, often putting their lives at risk, fight for human rights and freedom of expression.
