Tenacious D: Peace has broken out between Jack Black and Kyle Gass
After the argument we had in 2024 Jack Black And Kyle Gass they seem to have buried the hatchet and are back on good terms, ergo i Tenacious D they didn’t close their doors. It happened that Gass, from the stage in Sydney, Australia, made an unfortunate joke commenting on the attempted assassination of the then presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Black immediately distanced himself from his friend, declaring: “I would never tolerate hate speech or encourage political violence in any form.” The duo canceled their remaining tour dates and any projects involving them were put on hold.
Now calm seems to have returned to the comedy rock duo, so it seems according to the words spoken by Kyle Gass during an interview granted to the US magazine Rolling Stone. “We discussed it. And it was difficult. It’s like a marriage. You go through ups and downs and you try to understand your partner.”
She continued, “Jack and I are fine. At the end of the day, we’re friends. I’ve known Jack since he was 18, it’s been a really long marriage. There’s ups and downs, we’ve always taken long breaks. He’s had a lot going on, and I’ve got my own plans. So it doesn’t even feel that different.”
Looking back on the casus belli in Sydney, Gass says: “Of course I was naive, people would have noticed. But I felt like it was kind of a private moment. I thought I was safe in the bubble. And it was all so quick. It’s one of those things that, once it happens, it just gets worse and worse. It was my mistake. When you’re in it, it’s hard to even think straight. It’s just this thing that overwhelms you and gets to you. We had to take a break. And there I did it. Jack has this great career, I can’t even count the franchises now. So, as hard as it was, I just had to go home.”
As to when they might return Tenacious D Gass didn’t say too much: “We won’t serve D-Wine before D-Time, but we’ll be back. We’ll be back.”
