Ten Italian songs from 1966
For Italian music, 1966 is a year of transition; while the impact of traditional song diminishes, and commercial pop asserts itself (Gianni Morandi, Rita Pavone, Adriano Celentano, Mina…), a new genre begins to make its way, the “beat”, imported from the Anglo-Saxon scene – often through covers of international successes. Here are ten significant songs from the year 1966, released on 45 rpm (the 33 rpm has not yet established itself on the market).
“Bang Bang” – Equipe 84 (1966)
“No one can judge me” – Caterina Caselli (1966)
“The boy from via Gluck” – Adriano Celentano (1966)
“What is our fault” – The Rokes (1966)
“Theme” – The Giants (1967)
“Dreaming of California” – Dik Dik (1966)
“If Telephoning” – Mina (1966)
“There was a boy who loved the Beatles and the Rolling Stones like me” – Gianni Morandi (1966)
“A street boy” – The Crows (1966)
“How can you judge” – Nomadi (1966)
