Taylor Swift releases new single “I knew it, I knew you”

Taylor Swift has released “I Knew It, I Knew You,” a new song from the soundtrack to the movie “Toy Story 5,” which she wrote and co-produced with her frequent collaborator Jack Antonoff. The release comes a month after a 48-hour countdown was leaked on Swift’s official website, featuring a background that looked almost identical to the cloudy wallpaper of Andy’s room in the films, before being removed entirely. On June 1, a second countdown appeared on Swift’s homepage, this time featuring Jessie walking on a farm. The countdown ended with a link to pre-order three collector’s editions of “I Knew It, I Knew You” on CD.

“I’ve always dreamed of being able to write for these characters that I adore since I was 5 years old and watched the first ‘Toy Story’ movie,” Swift wrote after announcing the single. “I instantly fell in love with ‘Toy Story 5’ when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening.”

“I Knew It, I Knew You” is Swift’s latest contribution to a soundtrack: in the past the artist has lent her songs to films such as ‘Fifty Shades Darker’, ‘The Sweetheart’ and ‘Hannah Montana: The Movie’.
