Taylor Swift announces new docuseries and concert film
Ten days after the release of her new and twelfth studio album, “The life of a showgirl” (here is our review), Taylor Swift continues to surprise fans with further announcements and news. The pop star has in fact confirmed today, October 13, the release of one new docuseries focused on the behind the scenes of his latest tour, the “Eras Tour“. Furthermore, the artist announced the concert film “The final show“.
The new docuseries, consisting of six episodes, will therefore tell the story of the Taylor Swift’s record-breaking tourwhich ended on 8 December last year after 21 months, 149 shows in 53 cities on five different continents, recording 10.1 million total attendances and grosses of around 2.08 billion dollars. As announced today, the first two episodes of the series titled “The end of an era“, which retrace the tour, will debut on Disney+ on December 12th. On the same day, the platform will also publish “Taylor Swift: The eras tour – The final show“, a new concert film which fully captures the final performance of the tour, recorded at BC Place in Vancouver last year.
From that date, they will be shared on the streaming platform two new episodes of the docuseries every weekfor two consecutive weeks.
Regarding the new releases, Taylor Swift commented on social media:
“It was the end of an era, and we knew it. We wanted to remember every moment that led us to the conclusion of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we decided to allow the filmmakers to document this tour, and all the stories woven within it, until its conclusion. And to film the last show in its entirety.”
“The final show” will then include the entire set dedicated to the album “The tortured poets department” of 2024 filmed during the monumental concert series, unlike the concert film already published on Disney+, entitled “The eras tour (Taylor’s version)” and recorded during the first dates of the tour in 2023 before the release of the singer’s penultimate album. The tour also passed through Milan last year for two dates at the San Siro Stadium (here is our story of the show).
