Tame Impala: the new album seems to be coming

The Tame Impala could soon put an end to that record silence that has lasted for five, very long years, as many as they have passed since the exit of the last album of Kevin Parker’s project, “The Slow Rush” of 2020. The times for the return to Parker’s scenes seem to be ripe: Friday night, during a DJ set held by surprise at the Spring Sound in Barcelona, the musician made a first time listened to a Unpublished, an anticipation of the record project to which he has worked in recent months. The piece, from the electro-house sounds, does not yet have a title. Parker announced it like this: “Guys, do you want to listen to a new song? It’s a new piece of the impalas. You will be the first to listen to it. Let’s do it.” And from behind the console he started the piece, which you can listen to right below:

Arrived in February 2020, “The Slow Rush” was the fourth studio album of the Tame Impala, after “Loverpeaker” of 2010, “Lonerism” of 2012 and “Currents” of 2015. The album was positively welcomed by critics (here our review) and received the candidacy for Grammy Awards 2021 as “Best Alternative Music Album”.

Australian, born in 1986, Kevin Parker has gained an important place over the years in the mainstream for the merit of having modernized psychedelic rock, merging it with genres such as electronics, pop, R&B and hip hop. As a producer and co -author he collaborated with – among others – Lady Gaga (there was his touch in “Perfect Illusion”), Kanye West, Travis Scott, The Weeknd and Dua Lipa.
