Stranger Things, from Kate Bush to the Butthole Surfers

I am the words of Kate Bush, posted on its website on Christmas Eve, to thank the creators of the series, which is approaching its grand finale: on December 26, Netflix released “Volume 2”, or episodes 5-7.
Well yes, there’s still Kate Bush and her “Running up that hill”I become a leitmotif of the series – or indeed a “totem”, as the singer defines it. The new part of the soundtrack has also been uploaded to streaming platforms. If you don’t want spoilers, we put the complete list below.

But there is a big surprise, of course: in one of the central scenes there is one “Human Cannonball” by Butthole Surfersfrom their 1987 album “Locust Abortion Technician”. The Butthole Surfers are a Texan group that is an icon of alternative music and hardcore punk of the 80s – founded in 1981, they have been essentially inactive since 2001, the year of their last studio album, “Weird Revolution”, to date – even if in 2017 there was talk of their return to the studio. Not only that, in the same scene, the protagonists discuss the importance of the band, and of another historical band of the period, i Replacementshinting that they could be chosen for the grand finale…
