Steve Harris: “Sooner or later I will write an autobiography”
During an interview conducted by Andrew McKaysmith of the podcast Scars And Guitars, the founder and bassist of IronMaidenSteve Harris he was asked if he would like to write an autobiography.
Steve didn’t dodge the question and replied, “I’d like to do a book eventually. I know how much work and time it would take to do that. That’s the problem. I’ve written some forewords for other people’s books and even doing those takes time. I thought, wow, if it takes that long just to do a foreword, then what’s it like to do a book? Anyway, yeah, I’m sure I’ll do one eventually.”
The 68-year-old British musician previously spoke about the possibility of working on an autobiography in March while appearing on SiriusXM’s ‘Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk.’ “I’d love to write a book at some point, but it’s just a matter of time. Because when I’m not on tour I do a lot of other things. So, to do a book… I couldn’t do what Bruce[Dickinson, Iron Maiden singer]does, he’s doing ten things at once. He told me he would write in his dressing room before shows… I can’t do that, I’d need to set it up and do it more methodically. So I know it would take me a while to do it. But I’d love to do one. I’d probably do a book about the early days.”
In addition to the Iron Maidenwhich he founded in 1975, whose last album “Senjutsu” (read the review here) released in 2021 has reached number one on the charts in 27 countries, Steve Harris is the owner of the British Lion project composed by the singer Richard Taylorthe guitarists David Hawkins And Graham LeslieHarris on bass and keyboards and the drummer Simon Dawson.
