Starting tomorrow the Tenco Prize 2024: the meetings and the first evening
From tomorrow, Thursday 17 October, to Saturday 19 October in Sanremo (Imperia) the Premio Tenco 2024 will be held, the event dedicated to songwriting which this year celebrates the important milestone of 50 years.
Tomorrow the first event open to the public will be at 3.00 pm in the Club Tenco headquarters: the first national meeting of Italian songwriting and quality song reviews and awards will be held. Andrea Scanzi will moderate the round table, together with Stefano Senardi and Paolo Talanca representing the Club Tenco Board, and representatives of the most important events or presidia will be present.

Following, at 6.00 pm, in the former Santa Brigida church (in the Pigna district) Giovanni Block’s concert will be heldhosted by Steven Forti.
At 9.00 pm at the Ariston Theatre the first of three evenings presented by Francesco Centorame and Antonio Silva will see on stage the presentation of the Tenco Plaques to: “It’s useless to talk about love” (Woodworm, Universal Distribution) by Paolo Benvegnù – Best album ever, “La Mia Terra” (Carosello Records) by Diodate – Best Single Song, “Hasta Siempre Mercedes” (BMG) by Simona Molinari – Best album by performer, “Assamanù” (Cassis Publishing) by Setak – Best album in dialect (or minority language spoken in Italy), “Curami l’anima” (Squilibri Editore) by Elisa Ridolfi – Best first album, and “Sarò Franco – Unpublished songs by Califano” (Azzurra Music) produced by Alberto Zeppieri – Best project album.
TO Tullio De Piscopo the “The sounds of song” prize will be awarded, with the following motivation: “A career marked by extraordinary versatility, Tullio De Piscopo has collaborated with the biggest names in world music. What perhaps matters most is that he has always been able to give a personal and creative imprint to his works, becoming a point of reference for generations of drummers. His contribution to Italian songwriting is therefore literally priceless.”
They will perform as guests Francesco Tricarico and Michele Staino with Gianni Coscia and Fabrizio Mocata.
Among the other events preceding the evenings, today, Wednesday 16 Octoberat 11.00 am at the Ariston Theatre, after the meetings of previous years dedicated to Gaber, De André and Jannacci, a masterclass for students dedicated to Pino Daniele curated by Marika Amoretti. Fausta Vetere, Tullio De Piscopo, Carmine Aymone and Stefano Senardi participate.

This year the scenography will be designed by Valerio Berruti, an artist who uses the ancient technique of fresco, sculpture and video animation to create essential images, inspired by the suspended world of childhood, in which everything has yet to happen.
