Springsteen & E Street Band: US Tour Restarted

After a long wait, and nearly a year after the originally scheduled dates, last night, August 15, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band returned to perform in Pittsburgh for the first of two concerts scheduled for the PPG Paints Arena this week.

The two shows arrive as recovery of the shows originally scheduled for September 12 and 14, 2023canceled and rescheduled due to the peptic ulcer that forced the New Jersey singer-songwriter into forced rest last year. Returning to Pittsburgh, after eight years from the previous passage on the occasion of “The River Tour” in 2016, also marked the Restart of the tour in the United States of the Boss and his band after the European branch which ended last July.

For the first of two concerts at PPG Paints Arena, Springsteen and the E Street Band offered a setlist of 28 songsfor a total of almost three hours of music. Opened by “Seeds”the evening of August 15th was a journey through the entire discography of the 74 year old American musician, including latest songs and timeless hitswith some unmissable coverssuch as that of “Nightshift” by the Commodores – also recorded by the Boss for his 2022 soul covers album “Only the strong survive” – and the reinterpretation of “Twist and shout” in the Beatles version.

After the two dates in Pittsburghin addition to performing in Asbury Park on September 15, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will recover the postponed concerts in Philadelphia, Washington, DC, Baltimore, Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. Next year, the Boss and his group will also make up for the four European concerts postponed between May and June due to vocal problems, including the two events at the San Siro Stadium in Milan rescheduled for the June 30th and July 3rd of next year.
