THE Soundgarden gathered last night for the 13th annual SMooCH benefit concert to raise money for unpaid care at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron And Ben Shepherd they performed using the alias Nudedragons (anagram of Soundgarden) at the Showbox in Seattle, together with the singer-songwriter Shaina Shepherd. They were also on the bill for the concert Sebadoh, Doug Martsch of the Built to Spill and the bassist of Guns N’ Roses DuffMcKagan.

SMooCH was founded by musicians Pete and Brandy Nordstrom in 2012 after their child received life-saving treatment from Seattle Children’s Hospital. Previous benefit shows have featured Modest Mouse, Iron And Wine, Jason Isbell, J. MascisThe Afghan Whigs And Redd Kross. Last year’s event generated more than $2.6 million.
