Singer Darius Rucker arrested for a misdemeanor

The frontman of Hootie & the Blowfish Darius Rucker was arrested last Thursday in Tennessee, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office reported.

According to Lt. Becky Coyle, the 57-year-old Darius Rucker was arrested by police in Franklin, Tennessee, on charges of unlawful possession and violation of the registration law which prohibits anyone from lending or taking possession of another person’s certificate of title.

Authorities did not specify what material Rucker had in his possession. He was released on $10,500 bail.

In a statement to CNN, the musician’s attorney, Mark Puryear, said: “Darius Rucker is fully cooperating with authorities regarding the misdemeanor charges.” The town of Franklin is located about thirty kilometers south of Nashville.
