Sanremo 2026, the video of Tiziano Ferro’s performance

In the end, Tiziano Ferro moved on from Sanremo 2026 – as super guest in the early evening of Tuesday 24 February. There had been talk of his participation in the competition, but when he “arrived you could see the difference between him and the rest of the cast. He sang a medley of his hits: !Ti will take a photo”, “The difference between me and you”, “The stadium”, “Xdono”, plus “Sono un grande” – title track from the latest album. For Ferro it was his sixth guest at the Ariston. In 2006 he accompanied Michele Zarrillo, competing that year, in the evening of duets, to the tune of “The Lovers’ Alphabet”. He returned to the Ariston in 2007 to present the single “Ti scattrò una foto”. In 2015 Carlo Conti invited him as a guest on the first evening of his first Sanremo Festival: he performed a medley between “Non me lo so explain”, “Sere nere” and “Il Regalo grandest”, as well as singing the single “Incanto”. Conti also invited him to the Festival again in 2017: in the first evening he paid homage to Luigi Tenco fifty years after his death with a cover of “I’m in love with you”, as well as singing “Potriamo ordini” and “Il consolation” together with Carmen Consoli. In 2020 he was a regular guest at the first Festival hosted by Amadeus, performing every evening.

The lineup will almost certainly feature a duet with Laura Pausini, co-host of the Festival, to the tune of “Non me lo so explain” that the two recorded together in 2006 for the cover album of the Romagna singer “Io canto”. Pausini has just published, twenty years later, the second volume of the project, “Io canto 2”.

Last October, in an interview given shortly after the release of his latest album “Sono un grande” to Andrea Spinelli for Quotidiano Nazionale Ferro, he confirmed that he had initially thought of competing this year: «When in March Carlo Conti, who has a similar mind to mine about music, was confirmed as host and artistic director of Sanremo, in my private life the idea flashed for a minute. But only for a minute. Even though I thought about it seriously, even identifying the eligible piece, “I’m great”. But in June I had the album ready and I didn’t feel like waiting eight months to release it.”
