Sanremo 2025 and Coppa Italia to coincide: solutions sought

According to what was learned and reported by Adnkronos, for the 2025 edition Sanremo could have to face some problems related to television programming and Rai is already evaluating a solution. The Lega Serie A has in fact scheduled the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia in the same week as the Festival, scheduled from 4 to 8 February 2025.

The first to raise the issue of the overlap between the two events was the CEO of Rai, Roberto Sergio, who wrote in a post on Facebook: “Incredible, Coppa Italia calendar: first leg of the quarter-finals in the week from 4 to 6 February 2025 – he wrote – The 75th edition of the Sanremo Festival 2025 will be held from 4 to 8 February 2025, dates communicated by Rai before the decision of the Lega Calcio. Will Italian viewers have anything to say?”.

Rai had already confirmed the dates for the next Festival, with Carlo Conti once again as artistic director and host. However, this did not stop Lega Calcio from scheduling the first leg of the Coppa Italia quarter-finals in the same week, from 4 to 6 February 2025, on Mediaset.
