Rolling Stones: two new songs in the setlist
THE Rolling Stones have chosen “Sweet Virginia” among the songs requested by fans, which in addition to this song included “Rocks Off”, “Wild Horses” and “Let It Bleed”.
But it's not over. As the concert continued, after the usual participation of Keith Richards on lead vocals for “Tell Me Straight” and “Little T&A”, the guitarist remained at the microphone for the second debut of the evening, “Happy“.
The last time “Sweet Virginia” played a significant role on a Stones tour was in 2019 — they performed it 10 times that year. In the 2000s, it was typically only performed once or twice a year.
Likewise, “Happy” was once a fixture, with dozens of performances in the '70s, '80s and '90s, but has since been a rarity, with three performances in 2021 and seven in 2022.
The Hackney Diamonds tour continues in Philadelphia on June 11 and concludes in Ridgedale, Missouri on July 21.
