Rolling Stones: here’s how they could return to tour this year

In mid-December, British tabloids reported that the Rolling Stones had decided to cancel plans for a concert tour scheduled in Europe in the summer of 2026 mainly due to Keith Richards’ health problems. The guitarist, who has been living with a bad form of arthritis for some time, would not have been able to respect the “exhausting” roadmap. Pushing Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood to communicate to the tour organizers theinability of the band to return on the road. Now, a month after the publication of the news, updates are arriving on the group’s plans. And they’re a little more reassuring for fans than the latest news.

According to what the Daily Mail reports, in fact, the Rolling Stones would not have decided to completely ruin their plans for a return to the stage for the summer of 2026. Not being able to commit to a long and exhausting tour, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood would have opted to a series of mini-residencies detached from each other, so as to regain energy and recharge your batteries between the various scheduled concerts.

The three mini-residencies, also scheduled for the summer of 2026, should take place in United Kingdomin United States and in Argentinawhere the Rolling Stones have a huge and passionate fan base (in 1998 they also recorded a live album, “Bridges to Buenos Aires”, released in 2019 at the Estadio River Plate in Buenos Aires). The idea is that between one concert and another they take a week’s break and then a two-week break between one residency and another.

According to an American source involved in the negotiations, it is possible that the concert in the United States will take place at the Sphere in Las Vegas, thefuturistic and gigantic location for shows and entertainment from over 20 thousand seats of capacity inaugurated by U2 in 2023.
