Robbie Williams: “I’ve done everything except suck a…”

In this period Robbie Williams he’s pretty busy giving interviews to promote the release of the biopic ‘Better Man’, in which his part is played by a chimpanzee – the actor Jonno Davies transformed into a monkey on the computer using CGI, an acronym for computer generated imagery, a technology already used in films such as “Avatar” – which will reach Italian cinemas on January 1st.

In one such interview, with the British newspaper The Guardian, Williams was asked about the defamation lawsuit he filed in 2004, when he sued a tabloid for publishing an interview with his “secret gay lover.” Robbie won the case and was satisfied both financially and morally, complete with an apology.

To the 50-year-old English musician the journalist
Michael Cragg
he asked, “The point is this: are you straight or are you gay?” Having learned that Cragg is gay, Williams responded with an example: “OK, I’ll ask you this: there’s the cover of a newspaper read by millions of people where a lady says you gave her cunnilingus. You, as a person gay, are you suing the newspaper?”. Cragg told him that he would not sue but that he would be annoyed that he had been misrepresented. Then Williams explained: “I was annoyed. I was very sad. Not about the accusations of homosexuality because, believe me, I’ve done everything but suck dick. In all honesty, you’ve never met someone who wanted to be gay as much as I do.”

Then Robbie, to explain himself better, brought up a football comparison: “I’m a Port Vale fan and it’s as if someone said: ‘Well, you’re a Liverpool fan’. And I replied: ‘No, I’m not , I’m a Port Vale fan.’ When someone says you’re a Liverpool fan a hundred times it’s like, ‘I’m not a fucking Liverpool fan, because people think I’m a Liverpool fan. Liverpool?!'”.
