London label Transmission has announced the release of a new edition of the band’s 2007 album, The Invisibles, on October 25th. Porcupine Tree “Fear Of A Blank Planet”. Featuring a 112-page hardback, five CDs and a Blu-ray disc, the new edition includes remasters of “Fear Of A Blank Planet” and the mini album “Nil Recurring”approximately 55 minutes of previously unreleased demos, an early live performance of a still-works version of the album, as well as instore and BBC session recordings.

The set consists of:

112-page hardback book featuring insights into the album’s creation process by Stephen Humphries with interviews, along with rare images by photographers Lasse Hoile and Carl Glover.

Disc 1 (CD): 2024 remaster of “Fear Of A Blank Planet”.

Disc 2 (CD): 2024 remaster of “Nil Recurring” EP.

Disc 3 (CD): Approximately 55 minutes of previously unreleased demos by the band and Steven Wilson, offering insight into the album’s creative process, including two songs not included in the final version.

Disc 4 (CD): Live recording of a work-in-progress version of the album made at The Garage in Saarbrucken, Germany on September 23, 2006, while the band was still refining and developing the album. It has been mixed for the first time from the multitrack tapes for this release.

Disc 5 (CD): A five-track BBC radio session (Maida Vale Studios, 13 April 2007) plus an 8-track acoustic/unplugged performance in a Park Avenue store, Orlando/USA (4 October 2007).

Disc 6 (Blu-ray): Includes remastered stereo and 5.1 surround mixes of “Fear Of A Blank Planet” and “Nil Recurring”, plus a new 2024 documentary – “The Making of Fear Of A Blank Planet”. Also contains 3 music videos, 3 songs performed live at the Palladium in Cologne (December 4, 2007) and 2 live footage (“Sleep Together” and “Anesthetize”).

Originally published in 2007, “Fear Of A Blank Planet” It is the ninth studio album of the Porcupine Tree. It was their best-selling album at the time, the band’s first to enter the Billboard Top 100 in the United States and to reach a significant position in the European charts. The album includes collaborations with Robert Fripp (King Crimson) and with the guitarist of the Rush, Alex Lifeson.
