Pink Floyd: a live performance from 1975 on vinyl and CD for the first time
A concert of Pink Floyd recorded in one of five lives held at the Los Angeles Sports Center in Los Angeles (California) in April 1975, during the tour of “Wish You Were Here”will be released for the first time on vinyl and CD.
“Pink Floyd Live From The Los Angeles Sports Arena, April 26th, 1975” will be available in a special clear vinyl edition with four LPs, released exclusively for Record Store Day which drops on April 18th, followed by a double CD edition on April 24th.
The concert opens with “Raving and Drooling” And “You’ve Got To Be Crazy”then evolved respectively into “Sheep” And “Dogs”songs featured on the tenth album of the English band from 1977, “Animals”the first of two parts of “Shine On You Crazy Diamond”separated by “Have A Cigar”also taken from “Wish You Were Here”before the full execution of “The Dark Side Of The Moon” (read the review here), followed by an encore “Echoes”.
The recording has been restored and remastered by Steven Wilson from the original bootlegger tapes Mike “Mike the Mic” Millardwhose recordings of concerts in Los Angeles in the 1970s became famous for their astonishing sound quality. Many of Millard’s bootlegs were released on vinyl unofficially, although he did not approve of the commercial sale of his recordings, and these recordings were first heard when they were released in the box set “Wish You Were Here 50” (read the review here), album which reached number one in the UK in 2025.
