Paul Simon returns to tour
Who has thrilled themselves in reviewing in recent days Paul Simon duet on stage with Sabrina Carpenter At the “SNL50” it will be happy to know that there will be (for now in America) the opportunity to see him live on a structured tour and not in occasional appointments.
Last Tuesday, Simon has in fact announced on his social media that he is about to leave for the Quiet Celebration Tour.
The tour will start on April 4 in New Orleans and will end on August 3 in Seattle.
Paul Simon, who lost most of the hearing from his left ear, had decided to retire in 2018 after his farewell tour.
In 2023, he spoke of his hearing problems during a session of questions and answers following the projection of the documentary “in Restless Dreams”: The Music of Paul Simon “at the Toronto International Film Festival, saying, according to what reported by The Hollywood Reporter: “I didn’t accept it completely, but I’m starting to do it.”
Last year, in an interview with The Guardian, Simon changed a little idea, declaring that he is “optimistic” about the return to the stage. “Six months ago I was pessimistic,” he said.
Paul Simon and Sabrina Carpenter opened the special of the “Saturday Night Live” last Sunday with a duet, in acoustic, on the notes of “Homeward Bound”, Simon & Garfunkel single from 1966.
Already last September Paul Simon had made an exception to his retreat of the tours and had performed acoustic to the Loft Soho Sehs in New York for about 150 lucky ones. The concert, in which he played seven tracks from his repertoire, was the fourteenth of the “Soho Sessions”, a charity event in progress since 2021, organized by Nicole Rechter and Greg Williamson, the same producers of the Love Rocks NYC annual charity concert. For the occasion Paul Simon had performed to raise funds for Stanford Initiative to Cure Hearing Loss.
Simon went up to the musical limelight in the 1960s as half of the duo Simon & Garfunkel, before embarking on a award -winning solo career.
