Parkway Drive and drum lessons with… Chris Hemsworth

“He has the body, but he lacked coordination and rhythm,” says Ben Gordon, drummer for the band Parkway Driveof his actor friend Chris Hemsworth. The famous Thor of the Marvel Cinematic Universe had turned to Gordon to try to learn to play his instrument.

“When he first came to me, it was really bad. Nobody in the world is good at everything, not even Chris Hemsworth: he found something he’s not good at, which is the drums.” In the second season of “Limitless”, the documentary TV program in which Hemsworth tries to face his fears, the actor goes to Gordon to learn how to use drumsticks in preparation for a concert with Ed Sheeran.

Chris himself admits that he had difficulty keeping time and that he forced the band to start the song again several times from the beginning. Hemsworth explained that he chose to jam with Parkway Drive because he admires the “zen quality” of his friend, Ben Gordon. “It was really sad,” guitarist Jeff Ling quips, judging the actor’s drumming skills.
