Ozzy Osbourne’s last interview
“It’s my last encore, my opportunity to thank my fans for always supporting me and for being there for me.” So Ozzy Osbourne on the eve of the concert last July 5 in Villa Park, in Birmingham, presented his highly anticipated farewell show to the scenes. It was July 3 when the Black Sabbath frontman, who passed away yesterday at the age of 76, gave an interview destined to become the last of his life before death. To reread the responses given by Ozzy today in a Q&A session with the Prime Minister Coms communication agency, his words play as a love letter to fans:
I hope they understand how important they are for me. I could not have done my last show on any other side if not in Birmingham. I wanted to go back to the beginning.
Ozzy had also spoken of the participations in the show of friends and colleagues such as Zakk Wylde, Metallica, Guns N ‘Roses, Slayer, Tool and Black Sabbath, who would meet for the occasion after twenty years:
It means everything. I will be an eternally debtor lotus for having performed for me and my fans. I can’t express it in words, but I feel very excited and lucky. It is a farewell regarding my live performances and it is a nice way to leave.
His family was announced to the world the death of the king of Heavy Metal. In a press release signed by his wife Sharon and children Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis, Osbourns have made it known that Ozzy “died surrounded by love”.
