Ozzy Osbourne’s favorite singers
In 2008 the US magazine Rolling Stone asked a good number of musicians to list what they thought were the twenty best singers of all time. Among others, the opinion was also asked of Ozzy Osbourne. The former voice of Black Sabbath put two at the top of his list, in first and second position Beatles: John Lennon And Paul McCartney. Reserving for himself a dignified sixth position.
Among the twenty singers listed by Ozzy, only two female singers were indicated.
In 13th position.Tina Turner and, just behind him, in 14th place, Aretha Franklin. The English singer’s esteem for Turner has been known for some time. At least since, the day before Live Aidin 1985, Ozzy was interviewed by Philadelphia television station 6ABC and asked how he felt about performing on the same day with her, he responded without hesitation: “I’m a big Tina Turner fan. I love his voice.”
