Ozzy Osbourne: “I don’t want to die in a hotel room”

Speaking in an interview with the newspaper The Guardian Ozzy he explained: “I would like to say ‘never to say’, but after the last six years … it’s now. I have lived on the road for about 50 years and now I have become accustomed to not having to take the bags anymore and get on the bus. I no longer smoke grass nor do I lead the life of rock star anymore. I am a little a household”.

He continued by telling his new lifestyle: “I never go out. I never go to the bars, I don’t drink. So what the hell is waiting for me out? I hate going shopping with my wife. I want to stab in my neck after half an hour. But it’s time to spend some time with my grandchildren, I don’t want to die somewhere in a hotel room. I want to spend the rest of my family”.

Regarding the concert that awaits him in a couple of months he says: “We will play only a couple of songs each. I don’t want people to think: ‘They are cheating on it’, why will it be alone … how do you say? … a sample, you will hear some songs by Ozzy and Sabbath”.

The guitarist of Black Sabbath Tony Iommi During the same interview, he kept underlining how he hesitated a lot before convincing himself to giving his approval to the project. In the end, it was the fact that the show has a charity purpose. In fact, the proceeds will go to the research on Parkinson’s disease and various charitable associations for children. “I’m the one who said: ‘I don’t know if we should do it’, because we did a farewell tour and I didn’t want to find myself in that situation like all the other bands, saying that it is the last tour and then reappear. But I convinced myself, because we do it for a reason”.
