In support of the tour: Silas & Saski
The Ozric Tentacles are a band that emerged from the UK festival scene, formed in 1983 during the Stonehenge Free Festival.
Led by multi-instrumentalist Ed Wynne, they united fans of progressive rock, psychedelia and dance music.
In the 1980s, they built a fan base through cassettes sold at concerts, releasing their first label album, “Pungent Effulgent,” in 1989. Other albums followed such as “Erpland” (1990) and “Strangeitude” (1991), with the song “Sploosh!” used in a BMW campaign. “Jurassic Shift” (1993) reached the top ten in the UK.
The band has undergone many lineup changes, but Ed Wynne has always remained present. They have released 17 albums to date, the latest of which, “Lotus Unfolding,” came out in 2023, their 40th anniversary.
Ozric Tentacles continue to tour and produce new music while maintaining their identity.
Silas & Saski (who open the concerts) is a British project specializing in a unique form of ethereal space-folk that embraces an artistic sense of harmony and sonic beauty.
Their latest single, “Milky Window“, previews their next album “Harmony of the Spheres”. Their songs blend elements of electronic music, psychedelic rock, IDM and dub reggae with an understanding of the uplifting power and medicinal qualities of music.
Silas Neptune is a talented multi-instrumentalist, best known for playing synthesizer in Ozric Tentacles. Grew up with father Ed Wynnea founding member of the band, his path was somewhat predestined. His solo album The Scales of Tahuti (2017) showcased his evocative sense of melody and harmony with a range of instruments at his fingertips, including keyboards, lead guitar, baglama saz, oud and bass.
Saskia Maxwell is a solo artist, singer, acoustic guitarist, flutist and dancer who also performs with Ozric Tentacles since 2021 and Gong since 2022.
