Outkast's absolutely flawless album

OutKast enters the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

A historic evening at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles featured the legendary OutKast, André “André 3000” Benjamin and Antwan “Big Boi” Patton, to be officially inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in the “performers” categorycelebrating decades of musical innovation and the duo’s lasting influence on Southern hip‑hop and global music culture. The ceremony was opened by Donald Glover, also known as Childish Gambinowhich recalled how OutKast (here is an in-depth look at the 25 years of “Stankonia”) did not simply represent the South, but redefined its imagery. During the speech at the ceremony, Big Boi and André 3000 jokingly played rock-paper-scissors to decide who would speak firstdemonstrating the complicity that has accompanied them for over twenty years. André 3000 shared exciting memories from the early days in the small studios of Atlanta, particularly in “The Dungeon”, the duo’s creative starting point.

The evening saw a musical tribute full of guests: Doja Cat performed “Ms. Jackson,” bringing a contemporary energy to the classic, Tyler, the Creator performed “BOB (Bombs Over Baghdad)”restoring the power and innovation of the original piece, and Killer Mike closed the tribute with his verse on “The Whole World”demonstrating the continuity of OutKast’s influence on a new generation of artists. André 3000 has chosen not to perform personally, consistent with his recent detachment from live performances, but the evening was still an explosion of energy, creativity and celebration of their music.

With this entry, the duo becomes the first rap group from the South to enter the Hall of Fame in the “performers” category. Their influence goes beyond notes and lyrics: they redefined the concept of Southern hip‑hop, paving the way for subsequent generations of artists, as evidenced by the participation of Tyler, Killer Mike and Doja Cat. The presence of Tyler, the Creator, in particular, underlines the generational bridge between the musical atlas of the 90s and todayshowing how the legacy of the training continues to inspire.
