Once upon a time there was a twist
Born on October 3, 1941, “the chubby Checker” – the nickname “Chubby” needs no explanation – was very popular in the early Sixties thanks in particular to just one song, “The twist”which launched the fashion for this dance throughout the world. Ernest Evansthis is his real name, he did an encore two years later with “Limbo rock”but later he was no longer able to find great success again; however, the notoriety of his name has remained intact, e.g Chubby Checker he will always be “The King of Twist” for everyone.
