Noel Gallagher compares Manchester United to the Libertines

Noel Gallaghera big fan of Manchester Citydid not fail to underline yet another unfortunate moment in the last few years of the city rivals of Manchester Unitedcomparing the team to the Libertinescertainly not as a compliment.

The guitarist of Oasis had the opportunity to express his opinion on the matter during an episode of talkSPORT Drive in which he was a guest commenting on the exemption by the Manchester United of the Portuguese coach Reuben Amorim.

In Great Britain the whole coaching frenzy has now been unleashed to find out who will be the new trainer of the prestigious Mancunian team who will presumably be announced in the next few days. Among the many possible names, during the sports programme, the Spanish coach of theAston Villa Unai Emery. The conductor Andy Goldstein he went so far as to say that Emery would have jumped at the chance to lead the Manchester Unitedthat it would have been a career advancement for him to leave theAston Villa to train the Manchester United.

To which Noel Gallagher he flatly denied this by declaring: “I think you’re living in the past a bit. There was a time when the players who went there represented the pinnacle of English football. Not anymore. A player would be absolutely mad to go there.”

Noel, still speaking of United’s rivals, further added to the matter with phrases such as “the whole club is in ruins”, “there are too many voices on the outside” and “the only reason you can go there is for the money”. He then made a musical comparison, ironically saying that moving from Aston Villa to Manchester United would be “like asking me to leave Oasis to join the Libertines”.
