Nick Cave: Colin Greenwood will be the bassist on the tour
With a post on Instagram Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds they announced that the bassist Martyn Casey will not be on stage with the band on their UK and European tour due to health issues.
The historic bassist (64 years old) of Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, in the band since the 90s, also accompanies Cave in Grindman together with Warren Ellis on electric violin and Jim Sclavunos on drums, all also members of Bad Seed. No further details were provided on his health condition.
Casey will be replaced by Colin Greenwood, Radiohead’s bassist, who had already accompanied the Australian singer-songwriter on his solo tour and who is also present on Cave’s latest album “Wild God”.
Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds will be live in Milan (only Italian date) on October 20th at the Unipol Forum. The concert is sold out.
This is how the Australian singer-songwriter talks about the live “transposition” of his latest album:
I never think about how a record will go live, it never occurs to me. The lyric writing process is too difficult to consider ideas like that. But when I listen to ‘Wild God’ now, I think we can really do something epic with these songs live. We’re really excited about that: the record feels like it was made for the stage.
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds will be accompanied by The Murder Capitalthe Irish post-punk rock band formed in Dublin in 2018. The band will perform their new songs alongside many from their extensive catalog.
