Neil Young celebrates 50 years of “Tonight’s the Night”
A limited edition reprint of will be released on November 28th “Tonight’s the night”, the album of Neil Young which he recorded in 1973 to release only two years later. The reissue will be released in digital, compact disc and vinyl formats, as well as a special edition on clear vinyl. The reissue will have six bonus tracks, including “Raised on Robbery” with Joni Mitchell. These songs were recorded during the sessions for the original album.
Other pieces include an unreleased version of “Lookout Joe” and a different interpretation of “Walk On”which was later re-recorded for the album “On the Beach” (read the review here) from 1974 to Broken Arrow Ranch Of Neil Young.
“Tonight’s the Night” was the third chapter of the so-called “ditch trilogy”a series of albums following the success of “Harvest” (read the review here) from 1972, which also included “Time Fades Away” And “On the Beach” of 1973. Most of “Tonight’s the Night” was recorded in 1973 at SIR Studios in Los Angeles with the guitarist Nils Lofgrenthe pedal steel player Ben Keiththe bassist of Crazy Horse Billy Talbot and the drummer Ralph Molinawith additional material from Broken Arrow.
