Nashville airport will be renamed Dolly Parton International

After the death of Dolly Parton, personalities from the world of music, culture and even politics paid tribute to her. And few names have recently generated so much cohesion when it comes to generating praise from people. For this reason, just a few hours after his death at the age of eighty, a petition was launched to Change.org who asked that the Nashville airport change its name to honor her.

The petition to rename it Dolly Parton International Airport reached more than one hundred and seventy thousand signatures within a few hours, but what no one expected was that politicians would agree to the proposal so quickly. The governor of Tennessee, Bill Lee, joined the proposal last Saturday, August 28. So has Freddie O’Connell, who is now the mayor of Nashville.

On September 17, the issue will be discussed at a political meeting, but everything seems to indicate that the project will continue and the city will forever pay tribute to Parton with this renaming.
