My Chemical Romance talk about recording a possible new album

Gerard Way, lead vocalist of My Chemical Romancehas revealed the plan to record a new album in 2027, with a tour the following year.

These intentions were shown during their concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 30, a special Halloween concert, along with another one the following day. There, also a successful scriptwriter from the world of comics, Gerard Way, declared that next year they wanted to record an album, and that in 2028 they will hopefully be able to see the public again on an international tour. Hinting that in 2027 the band will focus on recording the fifth studio album.

Way expressed the band’s desire to make another album, specifying that thanks to the fans the band wants to move forward, and that the public deserves another studio recording, despite not knowing when they will have it.

This new album would be the first after “Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys”, released in 2010. After the group’s separation in 2013 and return in 2019, with only one new release since their return, the song “The Foundations Of Decay”, released in 2022.

Shortly after the recording of this last song, the death of collaborator and producer Doug McKean that same year, among other circumstances, was what broke the band’s plans to expand their discography until now.
