My Chemical Romance, $695 tickets: “Rubbish”

“Rubbish”: My Chemical Romance fans are on a war footing on social media.

The reason? The cost of tickets for the band’s new American stadium tour, scheduled for next summer, to celebrate their 2006 album “The Black Parade”. Tickets went on sale last Friday, November 15: prices are included between 63.50 dollars (60 euros) for the cheapest seats and 695 dollars (660 euros) for the most exclusive ones. And the figures immediately started the revolt of the My Chemical Romance fan base on social media: “I love My Chemical Romance and I don’t judge anyone, but I will never be willing or able to pay 700 dollars for a show”, wrote one ‘user. “$695 for a ticket is absolute rubbish,” another user thundered.

Others reported that ticket prices would increase during the pre-sale, sparking speculation among fans that the band may have opted for the practice of dynamic pricing, the controversial practice that “inflates” ticket prices based on demand and which can be activated or deactivated by the artists.
