Music and Gaza: Ghali against rapper, a Pelù song

Two of the most active Italian artists on the issue return to publicly intervene on what is happening in Gaza.
Ghali, in a long post on social networks, has openly criticized the silence of colleagues rapper on the situation in Gaza: “The rap is officially dead. The silence of the rappers killed the genre. He remained only the style, the sound, the shape. Any artist who boasts to be a rapper and uses a lot of words to fill the stanzas but does not say a cock on Palestine cannot be defined as I have never made my social profiles. I should do it now, or it is a very delicate and complicated story that has been going on for millennia ‘are all bullshit and apologies.

In the same hours, Piero Pelù has published a new unpublished song, “Sos”, dedicated to the Palestinian people and the Global Sumud Flottilla. The song is available for free on the artist’s official website (Pieopelu.net/sos) and will not be distributed on digital platforms. “I wrote a song that came from the heart and that talks about our breath suspended for the friends of the Global Sumud Flottille and for the Palestinian genocide,” explained Pelù. “I don’t want to use platforms involved in weapons and propaganda of dictators and for this I thank the president of my label Andrea Rosi (Sony Music) for granted it to me.” Just a few weeks ago he organized Sos Palestina, a concert in Florence with several colleagues, which will be replicated on June 20 at the Visarno Arena in Florence

This is the lyrics of the song:

How long still
We will eat bread and violence
And how many times we will still be children in the hands of vampires
In how many years still
Peace will be for everyone and all colors
Of all the colors, for everyone and of all colors?
And now … enough! This is the end of the humanity of freedom
Or what remains of it
Now enough! When children don’t eat, they don’t play,
They do not laugh, this is the end of humanity
This is the end of humanity
They or I want the right to happiness
And explode the colors
They or I want the right to happiness
And hatred you can keep it out
How long we will still use weapons
To save peace!
And we will raise walls to hide lies
Matrigne with wooden faces?
They or I want the right to happiness
And explode the colors
They or I want the right to happiness
And hatred you can keep it out
La la la la outside! La la la la
Now enough! When children don’t eat, they don’t play,
They do not laugh, this is the end of humanity
This is the end of humanity
They or I want the right to happiness
And explode the colors
They or I want the right to happiness
And hatred you can keep it out … out … out
