Miley Cyrus works on an album inspired by Pink Floyd’s The Wall
Miley Cyrus is working on a new album, titled “Something Beautiful”inspired by “The Wall”the album released by Pink Floyd in 1979. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar the American musician explained that it will also be a visual album. Miley has not indicated a release date but, as reported by the British magazine NME, one thinks that it could be released next year.
The almost 32-year-old Cyrus (her birthday is November 23) said she saw Alan Parker’s film ‘The Wall’ as a teenager with one of her brothers and a close friend.
“We really threw ourselves into it. So I loved it. My idea was to do The Wall, but with a better wardrobe and more glamor and full of pop culture.”
She described the atmosphere of her album as mesmerizing and glamorous. “It’s a concept album that is an attempt to cure a sick culture with music. For people I would like to be a psychedelic human. I don’t want anyone to try to be like me or imitate me or even just be inspired by me. I want to influence frequencies in your body to make you vibrate at a different level.”
Speaking about the visual element he added: “It was important to me that each song had these healing sonic properties. The songs, whether they’re about destruction, heartbreak or death, are presented in a beautiful way, because the worst moments in our lives have a point of beauty. I am the shadow, I am the charcoal, I am the shades. You cannot have a painting without lights and contrasts.”
Miley Cyrus revealed that her boyfriend Maxx Morandothe drummer for the Los Angeles band the Lilyworked with her on “Something Beautiful”producing a number of songs and working on the title track. Speaking about this experience she explained that it is nothing new for her: “I have always worked with my father. This is how my ex-husband (actor Liam Hemsworth, ed.) and I met. I have always worked with people which I love. And Maxx inspires me so much.”
Cyrus is working on this album with the producer Shawn Everett with whom he had already worked on his previous 2023 album “Endless Summer Vacation”(read the review here).
